I know for a fact I am not the only one who struggles with answering the “tell me about yourself” question. Why’s it such a simple yet so hard question to answer? Is it because I myself am not so sure anymore? Maybe a third person perspective will do, I mean it always works with my poetry. So, let me try this again.
Wrapped in the character of secrecy, she moves through the world with fascinating ease, always leaving a series of questions behind her. Her canvas is woven with strands of uncertainty. If you take a quick look, she may seem like any other person, fitting in very well with the noise. But a closer look may reveal much more, her eyes filled with misery, holds stories never told or her motions of unspoken words. Just your average girl trying to find her place in the world. She used to fear not being liked, so she spent most of her years people-pleasing. A free spirited girlie unless around foreign faces as she feeds off their energies. Underneath all else, such a cry baby walking around with that ‘tough girl’ façade. What a campaigner she is, laughing all the time especially in situations she shouldn’t. Loves helping others out even if it’s just for a minute. A day dreamer who sometimes forgets to take action.
Her silence isn’t a void but a piece of paper awaiting the scribbles of interpretation. Every word she says is chosen carefully, the beauty of her communication lies in the loud pauses that require contemplation not only in what is simply said. Delusional at times, the perfect amount of delulu though just to keep sane, obviously growing up a Disney girl she’s bound to make that channel her personality, the excitement written all over her face when as she recites every line, in every scene and every word of each song down to the last dance move, like a little baby girl tasting their first piece of candy. A little escape from reality from time to time, being her happiest finding those who believe in fairytales and wishing on stars as much as she does, even though it’s been established in the past that that’s a load of dagnabit on unicorns (swearing in Disney) if you didn’t get that.
What else could you possibly say about her? I really don’t know, that’s the most I’ve said about her in a long ass time. But you got the gist of things, she’s a hypocrite who doesn’t tell you who she is, with her it’s a constant maze, discovering something new with every turn you make. As the pages of her book continue to turn, she gets better by the day if we do say so ourselves.
