Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths.
Disclaimer: I’m just a girl, I’m no writer I’m only doing this because a close friend of mine asked me to. And I guess I’m here to talk y’all through my journey of mending and repairing my relationship with God after a loss that made me alienate myself from Him in a way.
About a year ago I lost someone so close to me and taht definitely rocked my world because it was the first loss I had ever experienced at an older age. That loss made me question God so much and I can also say I was a bit rebellious during that period, I found going to church, praising and praying very useless and pointless. Got me thinking I was God’s least favourite person and the thought of praying to the same person who caused me so much pain pretty much annoyed means made zero sense that time. And going through all the different stages of grief I found myself being distant with Him and His word. But with time I came to understand that God will make us go through ugly and tough situations as to test us and how deep our love and loyalty for Him. And just because He gives and takes doesn’t mean He hates us at all but somethings we go through because they are made to get us closer to God.
How do I repair my relationship with God? Something I have personally asked myself a million times when I was a lost soul and even when I was saved (Never feel bad if you’ve lost your way even when saved, it happens because God wants you to remain faithful in Christ, everything happens for a reason and it is apart of Gods will) But the choice of choosing God and wanting a relationship with Him is your own. The more you grow in Christ the less your questions become and the more you trust in God and it’s and everyday process.
If you think about a relationship with a friend or loved one, it’s something you have to work on everyday. Happiness with that person isn’t just achieved, communication is important. Prayer is your communication with God, He already knows how you’re feeling, God knows what’s going on He just wants you to tell Him. In order to fix that broken relationship with Him.
The bible is the answer the answer to any question you have, to any doubt or problem you’re experiencing.
And although feeling angry at God, demanding answers and pulling away is normal but going back to mend that relationship is important, because with that you start to understand why certain things happen and how everything happens for a reason.
PEACE OUT!
