Sometimes…the crown on her head becomes a challenge to balance. Even so, when it tips and meets the
ground, it takes some time for her to place it back where it belongs. Her duty is to her people ,of course
,so she can’t let them down because she’ll be letting herself down. Her happiness comes when she sees
her people happy. Yes, it makes her happy but can she make herself happy?
She’s a queen. Everything that she does is for her people. She lives for them, and never for herself. It’s
engraved in her heart ; it’s cemented in her brain. Her frail shoulders sometimes hard to carry are
pushed by her peoples weight. Her small feet burn from the pains she absorbs from her people. A
perfect masterpiece- often at times she wonders is that all they see?
But she overthinks.
She overextends.
On good days, she is overjoyed.
Constantly overwhelmed.
She, an emotional being. Another thing she lives for.
When the day is cloudy and grey, she takes on its gloom.
She appreciates bright, sunny days. To her they serve as a symbol of hope , a clear sign of optimism.
Her mother compares the beauty marks on her cheeks to the stars. But when they begin to shine and its
quiet her anxiety creeps on her and sometimes it gets the best of her. On other days her sensitivity
springs up like a stranger -truly her worst enemy. But realistically it shows her signs of undealt trauma
and unhealed wounds. To those who love her she can feel like a burden but what she also doesn’t feel at
times, is the multitude she carries on her back. If she would be nonhuman she’d pick to be a butterfly.
Because it’s first a caterpillar preparing to take on the world then when it’s begins to fly its ready to
conquer. Although she wasn’t ready for her crown ,when it falls she will pick it up. She a queen. She will
continue to serve her people. God is within her she will not fail.
